During his leadership, Tiwary faced various challenges, including allegations in 2021 that Amazon manipulated search results and given undue favour to its own product lines. Amazon has denied these claims, but the allegations brought significant attention to the company’s practices in India.

Tiwary’s departure is seen as the end of an era for Amazon India, where his leadership helped the company achieve key milestones despite a highly competitive environment. His future plans have not been disclosed, but it is reported that he will be joining another organisation.

This leadership change comes as Amazon continues to emphasise its long-term commitment to the Indian market, which remains a critical area for its global operations and growth.
