Enterprise data protection firm Commvault has appointed Pranay Ahlawat as its first Chief Technology and AI Officer (CTAIO). Ahlawat will report to Rajiv Kottomtharayil, the company’s Chief Product Officer, and will be responsible for guiding Commvault’s product vision and development. His focus will be on advancing cyber resilience for customers through modern AI technologies, said a statement.
Ahlawat joins Commvault with extensive experience in AI, cloud and infrastructure software, business strategy, product development, and operations. His previous roles include leadership positions at Boston Consulting Group (BCG), where he advised software and Software as a Service (SaaS) companies on cloud and infrastructure. At BCG, Ahlawat also led the global product innovation and engineering topic and contributed to the firm’s understanding of the impact of Generative AI on software development.
In his new role at Commvault, Ahlawat will leverage his background to address the increasing cyber threats faced by organisations. “Organisations today are facing unprecedented levels of cyber threats and attacks and require innovative solutions that can help them stay ahead of bad actors and get the most value out of their data,” said Ahlawat.
