Edited Excerpts:

How are you integrating Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion principles within your organisation's strategic initiatives? What impact did this integration have on your team or organisation's culture?

We have prioritised integrating Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) principles into our leadership approach. For instance, we have implemented blind recruitment to remove bias and established DEI training programs. This has led to a more diverse team and a culture of collaboration, creativity, and mutual respect. Our employees feel valued and empowered, resulting in increased productivity and business success.

As a woman leader, what is the most significant challenge you have faced related to gender equity or inclusion?

Fortunately, I have not faced significant challenges related to gender equity or inclusion personally. However, I'm keenly aware of their existence in many industries. I actively champion diversity and inclusion within my organisation, striving to create an equitable and welcoming environment for everyone. By staying proactive, we can collectively overcome barriers and create a more inclusive future.

How do you align your leadership values with your organisation's Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) goals?

As a leader, I align my values with our organisation's ESG goals by spearheading initiatives that priorities sustainability, social responsibility, and ethical governance. For example, we have implemented measures to reduce our carbon footprint, supported community engagement efforts, and enhanced transparency and accountability through robust reporting mechanisms. These efforts not only contribute to a better world but also strengthen our business resilience and reputation.

Mentorship can play a crucial role in professional development. Can you talk about a mentorship experience where you have either mentored someone or been mentored by someone else?

Mentorship has played a pivotal role in my professional journey, both as a mentor and a mentee. One significant experience was mentoring a colleague through a career transition, witnessing their growth was empowering. Conversely, being mentored has taught me the value of humility, openness to feedback, and effective leadership practices. These experiences have highlighted the importance of supportive relationships in fostering professional development and collective success.

What changes do you hope to see in your industry regarding women's leadership and empowerment?

In the future, I hope to see greater gender equality in leadership roles. Achieving this requires dismantling systemic barriers, fostering mentorship programs, and promoting workplace flexibility. As a leader, I advocate for these changes within my organisation, championing diversity, and supporting aspiring female leaders through mentorship and inclusive practices.
