SAP appoints Simon Davies as Asia Pacific regional president

SAP appoints Simon Davies as Asia Pacific President, overseeing strategy, operations, and growth across the region, succeeding Paul Marriott.

SAP Asia Pacific (APAC) has appointed Simon Davies as President for the newly established APAC region, effective immediately, the company announced in a statement.

Based in Singapore, Davies will oversee strategy, operations, sales, services, partnerships, and overall business performance across the region. Paul Marriott, who held the position for five years, will return to Europe.

SAP’s market units in the region include Australia and New Zealand (ANZ), Greater China, India, Japan, Korea, and Southeast Asia. Davies will be responsible for managing more than 31,000 employees across 78 offices.

SAP works with customers across APAC, including NEC Corporation, Coles Group, , Limited, Shiseido, Hyundai Motor Company, Kia Corporation, Himalaya, Cochlear, and Japan Airlines.

Before this appointment, Davies spent 25 years in the IT industry, working with companies such as Microsoft, Salesforce, and Oracle. Most recently, he was Senior Vice President and General Manager of Asia Pacific and Japan at Splunk for over three years. He also serves on the board of several pre-IPO companies and is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (MAICD).
