Homegrown smartphone maker LAVA International has launched . Priced at Rs 3,499, the Lava Z40 comes with 2250 mAH battery, K7 external audio PA speaker and in two colours – Black and Gold. The Lava Z40 runs on (Go Edition) offering storage of 1 GB RAM and 8 GB ROM expandable to 64gb to ensure enough space to store your favorite music, videos, pictures & apps.

The handset features a 4.0 inch display with corning gorilla glass protection assuring the outstanding durability of the phone. The Lava Z40 has a classy finish and comes with dual 4G VoLte SIM slots. The device comes with 2 MP rear camera with flash, providing brighter and sharper images. For high quality selfies and video calling the device also has a 2MP front camera with a flash.

Lava Z 40 has been designed, acknowledging the needs of Indian consumers and facilitating them with smart search in 10 Indian languages (including Hindi).

“Inspired by the huge success of LAVA A44, we are launching the LAVA Z40, targeting first time smartphone users & their needs. There is a huge demand for entry level smart phones with strong battery backup and good sound quality & the Lava Z40 is exactly that,” said Jasneet Singh, Head- Product (Smartphones), Lava International.

“With this launch, we intend to reach out to users who want to upgrade from feature phones to their first smartphone to become a part of India's fast paced digital journey, without burning a hole in their pocket,” said Singh.

STMicro quarterly profit declines by 18.4% owing to slow demand

European chipmaker STMicroelectronics reported net revenues of $3.47 billion, marking an 18.4% decline compared to the same period last year. This downturn was particularly noticeable in the automotive and industrial sectors, although gains in personal electronics provided some balance.
