Pioneering Finnish mobile phone manufacturer will re-enter the market with the launch of new Android-based smartphones on 26 February. The company has sent out invites to a keynote event that will be held at the (MWC) in Barcelona next month.

Nokia is partnering with HMD Global for its smartphones' hardware design for the next 10 years. The company recently launched its first Android powered smartphone, called Nokia 6, exclusively for China. The mid-range offering will be available from 19 January.

Nokia's announcement hints at introducing multiple devices for a global user base. Reports suggest that Nokia plans to launch as many as seven models of smartphones this year.

Rumored variants include a budget offering called E1 and a high-end smartphone called Nokia 8 which would be Nokia's flagship product. The company has even released a teaser on Facebook.
