New Delhi – The Indian Coast Guard has awarded Finnish environmental solutions company Lamor Corporation Plc an order worth around ₹55 crore (approximately EUR 6 million) for oil spill response equipment, marking the largest such contract for the company in India, Lamor said on Thursday.
The contract, issued following a competitive public tender by Ministry of Defence, covers the supply of oil containment booms and associated accessories to multiple strategic coastal locations, including Gujarat, West Bengal, the Andaman and Nicobar Islands and the Lakshadweep Islands.
The delivery will include approximately 22 kilometres of booms, along with equipment commissioning and on-site training for Indian Coast Guard personnel.
According to Lamor, the booms are expected to play a key role in protecting India’s entire coastline, which spans more than 7,000 nautical miles across the mainland and island territories.
Rob James, senior vice-president for Europe and Asia, Lamor, said the company was “honoured to support the Indian Coast Guard and the Ministry of Defence in enhancing the country’s oil spill preparedness and response capabilities”.
He added that the deal strengthened Lamor’s installed equipment base in Asia and supported the company’s environmental protection business.
Lamor said it had invested in local manufacturing infrastructure in India in recent years to meet domestic market needs and serve global customers from its India-based production unit.
“With its proven international track record and local operational capabilities, Lamor is well positioned to exceed customer expectations on this project,” James added.
The order has been included in Lamor’s third-quarter 2025 order backlog, the company said. The Indian Coast Guard, which operates under the Ministry of Defence, will be the end-user of the equipment.
Lamor, founded in Finland, has decades of experience in oil spill response and environmental protection technology. The company provides a range of services, including waste management, water treatment, soil remediation and plastic recycling, and employs more than 600 people across more than 20 countries.
Lamor is listed on Nasdaq Helsinki and in 2024, the company reported turnover of 114 million euros.
