San Jose – Cisco on Tuesday announced new artificial intelligence features across its Webex collaboration platform and devices, aiming to integrate AI agents directly into workplace communications.
The launch at the company’s annual WebexOne event in San Jose included upgrades to its Cisco AI Assistant, a new version of its RoomOS operating system for devices, and integrations with third-party applications such as Microsoft 365 and Salesforce.
Cisco described the strategy as “Connected Intelligence,” where human workers and AI agents collaborate on tasks.
Jeetu Patel, Cisco’s president and chief product officer, said the company was embedding AI agents into Webex to “amplify productivity and fundamentally improve how people connect with each other, how they interact with AI, and how AI agents themselves collaborate.”
The company said new AI-powered tools will automate tasks such as generating action items from meetings, creating transcripts and summaries of discussions, recommending live polls, scheduling follow-up meetings and acting as a virtual receptionist for Webex Calling. Many of these features will roll out in late 2025 and early 2026.
Cisco AI Assistant will also integrate with Amazon Q Index, Microsoft 365 Copilot, Jira and Salesforce, enabling users to access enterprise data and complete tasks in external applications without leaving Webex.
Cisco also unveiled RoomOS 26, its latest device operating system powered by Nvidia hardware. New features include real-time transcription of in-person meetings, an AI “director agent” to adjust meeting views, tools for managing audio pickup in defined zones, and a workspace advisor that creates 3D digital twins of office spaces for IT teams.
The company said the operating system will support Microsoft Teams Rooms and Zoom Meetings, allowing customers to run collaboration software from multiple vendors on Cisco hardware.
Cisco said IT operations teams will gain new tools through “AgenticOps,” where AI and human administrators manage infrastructure collaboratively. A planned integration between Webex Control Hub and Cisco AI Canvas will introduce AI-assisted troubleshooting via natural language commands.
To address security risks, Cisco said it was partnering with GetReal and Pindrop to equip Webex with deepfake and synthetic media detection tools, with general availability expected in early 2026.
