Software, a company specialising in Data Protection and Ransomware Recovery, has announced the of as the General Manager and Senior Vice President of the Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ) region.

In this role, Sia will be responsible for overseeing Veeam's business operations, formulating and executing growth strategies, and enhancing the company's presence and market share across the APJ region.

With over 20 years in the IT sector, Sia's experience encompasses working with partners and customers across APJ. Prior to this appointment, he held the position of Vice President of Southeast Asia and Korea at Veeam, managing business across 12 markets.

Addressing the challenges in the current landscape, Sia said, “82% of APJ organisations have been impacted by ransomware. As technology adoption in the region surges, the importance of robust data protection and recovery solutions cannot be understated. At Veeam, we are committed to assisting businesses in their data protection endeavours.”

on Sia's appointment, John Jester, Chief Revenue Officer (CRO), Veeam, said: “Beni's extensive experience in the region and his leadership skills make him an excellent choice to steer our operations in APJ. We are confident in his ability to guide our team, serve our customers, and strengthen our market position.”

Veeam has consistently reported revenue growth and was recognised by the International Data Corporation (IDC) Semiannual Software Tracker as a leading provider of Data Replication & Protection software in the latter half of 2022. In the APJ region specifically, Veeam reported a growth rate of 20.7% year-over-year.
