Las Vegas Shooting: Gunman killed more than 50 people attending Music festival Route 91 near Mandalay Bay

As many as 50 people were killed and over 200 injured in a shooting on the Las Vegas Strip Sunday night. The shooter who was located at 32nd floor of the Vegas’ famous Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino, where most of the big events happens, has been neutralised.

Police are now searching for an Asian woman named Marilou Danley who was traveling with the suspect. She is 4 ft 11 inches tall and 111 pounds, said Police.

The gunmen who has been identified but not named by the Police shot at people who were attending the popular three-day Route 91 Harvest festival. According to an eye witness, Rachel Dekerf gunshots lasted for 10-15 minutes. didn’t stop,” she was quoted by CNN. “We just ran for our lives.”

Las Vegas Metropolitan Police confirmed on Twitter that one suspect has been down. “This is an active investigation. Again, please do not head down to the Strip at this time,” advised Police. The spokesperson for the University Medical Center hospital said 14 suffered bullet wounds and were in a critical condition.  Vegas police said they believed there weren’t any more active shooters.

Concert-goers said they saw muzzle flashes from the upper floors of the Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino across Las Vegas Boulevard from the country music festival, and heard the sound of what they described as automatic gunfire. Officers carrying assault rifles were seen running into the . Flights at McCarran International Airport were temporarily halted because of the shooting, reported Associate Press.

CNN said it spoke to three people who were attending the concert at the Las Vegas Village outdoor arena when gunfire broke out, causing them to flee. They described hearing the sound of gunfire while Jason Aldean was performing. Aldean, his wife Brittany, his band and crew were able to get offstage safely and unharmed, said report.
