US Vice President JD Vance will deliver a keynote address at Bitcoin 2025, cryptocurrency conference, organisers announced Friday.
The Vice President is scheduled to speak at 9 a.m. on May 28 at The Venetian Las Vegas as part of the “Code + Country” programming track. The event, expected to draw more than 30,000 attendees, will be streamed globally by Bitcoin Magazine.
Vance, who has been a vocal critic of financial regulation during his time in the U.S. Senate, is expected to discuss Bitcoin’s role in financial sovereignty and American innovation, according to conference organisers.
The Ohio Republican has previously criticised SEC leadership and cited Canada’s 2022 bank account freezes as justification for decentralised currency systems.
“This is more than a headline moment — it’s a signal,” said David Bailey, CEO of conference organiser BTC Inc. “Bitcoin is at the forefront of the national conversation.”
The annual conference has become a major platform for cryptocurrency policy discussion, having previously featured addresses from former President Donald Trump, independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr., and numerous financial and technology leaders.
The appearance marks the highest-level Trump administration participation in this year’s cryptocurrency event to date.
Bitcoin 2025 will run from May 27-29 at the Venetian Resort, featuring speakers from finance, technology and policy sectors. Organiser says it remains the largest gathering of Bitcoin developers, investors and entrepreneurs globally.
