Motorola described the edge 70 pro as designed for users who frequently capture photographs in challenging lighting conditions. The company said the Sony LYTIA 710 sensor, combined with its motoAI software, processes images to reduce blur and improve clarity in low-light environments.

Camera Specifications

The edge 70 pro carries a triple rear camera system with three 50MP sensors. The primary camera uses the Sony LYTIA 710 sensor with optical image stabilisation, a hardware feature that physically moves lens elements to compensate for hand shake during photography.

The setup includes a 50MP ultrawide camera with a 120-degree field of view that also functions as a macro lens for close-up photography. A 50MP front camera with autofocus handles selfies and video calls.

All cameras on the device can record video at 4K resolution at 60 frames per second, according to Motorola. The company said the cameras carry Pantone validation, a certification indicating colour accuracy, along with skin tone calibration for portrait photography.

Display and Performance

The smartphone features a 6.8-inch AMOLED display with 1.5K resolution and a refresh rate that can reach up to 144Hz, meaning the screen can update its image up to 144 times per second for smoother scrolling and gaming visuals. Motorola claims a peak brightness of 5,200 nits, which determines visibility in direct sunlight.

The display uses -curved edges and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i. It carries HDR10+ certification for displaying high dynamic range video content.

Powering the device is the Dimensity 8500 Extreme processor, paired with up to 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM, a faster memory standard that improves multitasking performance. Storage uses the UFS 4.1 standard at 256GB, offering quicker file access speeds than older storage technologies.

Motorola said the device includes a vapour chamber cooling system, a heat dissipation method using liquid to spread heat away from the processor during intensive tasks like gaming.

Battery and Durability

The edge 70 pro packs a 6,500mAh silicon-carbon battery, a newer battery chemistry that allows higher capacity in a slimmer form factor. Motorola claims the device delivers up to 51 hours of battery life, though actual usage will vary based on individual patterns.

The smartphone supports 90W TurboPower fast charging. The company said this can provide enough charge for a full day of use in nine minutes, though complete charging times were not specified.

The device carries IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance, meaning it can withstand submersion in water and high-pressure water jets respectively.

Motorola Edge 70 Pro Design Options

Motorola is launching what it calls Collections by Motorola, offering the edge 70 pro in three finish options: Satin-Luxe, Tailored Fabric and Marble. The company said these finishes use Pantone-curated colours.

The edge 70 pro will be available starting 29 April 2026 through Flipkart, the official Motorola website and retail stores across India.
