LAS VEGAS — The American technology company Oracle on Tuesday launched its AI Data Platform, a system that links enterprise data with generative artificial intelligence tools. The announcement was made at Oracle’s AI World event in Las Vegas.
Oracle said the platform combines its cloud infrastructure, autonomous database and AI services to help firms use existing data for AI-driven applications. It said the goal is to simplify how companies manage and deploy AI across multiple systems and cloud providers.
“Oracle AI Data Platform enables customers to get their data ready for AI and then leverage AI to transform every business process,” said T.K. Anand, executive vice president, Oracle.
“By unifying data and simplifying the entire AI lifecycle, the platform provides a foundation for enterprises seeking to use AI with confidence and security,” said Anand.
The launch places Oracle among global enterprise software providers offering integrated data and AI systems as firms look to automate workflows and analyse growing volumes of information.
Data and AI integration
Oracle said the AI Data Platform supports open data formats such as Delta Lake and Iceberg and can unify data from different sources without duplication. A central catalog helps customers manage governance and access controls across both data and AI systems.
The platform includes support for “AI agents” that can perform defined business tasks. It also works with open standards such as Agent2Agent and Model Context Protocol, allowing interoperability between different AI tools.
The system runs on NVIDIA’s accelerated computing technology and supports hybrid and multicloud environments, which Oracle said enables firms to use data stored on-premise or in other cloud systems.
Oracle’s consulting partners join rollout
Oracle said global consulting firms including Accenture, Cognizant, KPMG and PwC are working with it to develop use cases and train staff on the new platform. These partners have invested a combined $1.5 billion in initiatives linked to Oracle’s AI ecosystem, according to the company.
Executives from the consultancies said the collaboration would help clients integrate AI into existing business processes. Oracle said versions of the platform tailored for sectors such as finance, healthcare and manufacturing are planned.
The platform will also connect with Oracle’s software suites, including Fusion and NetSuite, and will support data from Oracle Fusion Data Intelligence.
Indian enterprise outlook
Oracle operates two cloud regions in India, in Mumbai and Hyderabad. While the company did not refer to India in its announcement, analysts said the AI Data Platform could attract Indian firms seeking to use AI within local data rules while connecting to global systems.
The launch adds to competition among cloud and AI service providers in India, where businesses are expanding investment in automation and data analytics.
