Bengaluru — DriveX, a pre-owned two-wheeler platform, has appointed Devesh Taparia as Chief Executive Officer as it looks to scale operations, strengthen its retail network and deepen its use of technology across business functions.
Taparia, who has previously worked with Mahindra & Mahindra, Peugeot Motocycles and TVS Motor Company, brings over two decades of experience in the automotive and mobility sectors. At TVS Motor, he led strategic initiatives across multiple markets, focusing on business transformation and innovation.
DriveX said the appointment marks a step in its strategy to build a transparent, tech-led ecosystem for used two-wheelers. The company plans to expand its omnichannel network through DriveX Direct, a direct-to-customer model, and by opening new retail outlets across major cities.
Sharad Mohan Mishra, Director on the Board of DriveX, said Taparia’s appointment comes at an important stage in the company’s growth. “His deep understanding of mobility, technology, customer behaviour and business transformation aligns with our mission to make DriveX the right choice for consumers through trust, transparency and innovation,” he said.
Taparia said the focus would be on leveraging technology and data to simplify how customers buy, sell and service two-wheelers. “DriveX represents the future of pre-owned mobility where intelligent technology, data-led insights and customer trust converge,” he said.
Under Taparia’s leadership, DriveX said it would advance AI and data-enabled operations, enhance customer experience, and expand its network of refurbishment and retail centres. The company’s recent initiatives include expanding into new cities and integrating digital tools across its value chain to improve efficiency and standardisation.
India’s pre-owned two-wheeler market has been growing steadily, driven by demand for affordable mobility and the increasing formalisation of the used-vehicle ecosystem.
According to multiple estimate that the market could exceed 25 million units by the end of the decade, supported by digital retail platforms and rising vehicle ownership in smaller cities.
DriveX said its goal is to build a trusted and technology-enabled marketplace that meets evolving customer expectations in the organised two-wheeler segment.
