DriveX appoints Vivekanand Kini as senior vice president of technology and product

DriveX has named Vivekanand Kini as Senior Vice President of Technology and Product, tasking him with strengthening its digital platforms as the firm expands in the pre-owned two-wheeler market.

Bengaluru, a pre-owned two-wheeler brand backed by former Formula 1 driver Narain Karthikeyan, has appointed Vivekanand Kini as Senior Vice President for Technology and Product.

Kini, who has more than 18 years of experience in technology and product engineering, will oversee the company’s technology strategy as it expands its platforms. He previously held leadership roles at Acko, Ivy Mobility, Khoros and Opentext and earlier worked with technology giant Oracle.

DriveX said the appointment comes as the company increases investment in technology-led solutions aimed at improving in ‘s pre-owned two-wheeler segment. The firm has been rolling out services designed to cover the entire ownership journey, from vehicle discovery and financing to after-sales support.

“Mobility is being reshaped through technology and DriveX is at the forefront of this transformation in the pre-owned two-wheeler space,” Kini said in a statement, adding he looked forward to scaling platforms to support the company’s growth.

Narain Karthikeyan, director at DriveX, said Kini’s experience in building large-scale platforms and managing engineering teams would help strengthen the company’s technology backbone as it seeks to “redefine the pre-owned two-wheeler category”.

“Vivekanand’s expertise in scaling platforms and leading high-performing engineering teams will be instrumental in strengthening this digital backbone and taking DriveX to the next level, as we continue redefining the pre-owned two-wheeler category,” said Karthikeyan.

DriveX, which has been expanding in Karnataka and Tamil Nadu with new stores, recently launched DriveX Direct, a customer-to-customer platform aimed at giving buyers and sellers more flexibility. The company said it is positioning itself as a technology-first brand within the mobility ecosystem, with the new appointment expected to support its growth plans.
