The government asked school administrations across all boards and mediums on Thursday to waive off 15% of fees for the academic year 2021-22. According to a (GR) issued by the department, schools should reimburse fees that have been paid in full or use the extra funds for the academic year 2021-22.

In the event of a disagreement, the order said that a petition should be made with the divisional fee regulatory authority, whose decision will be binding on all.

Additionally, the government has encouraged school administrators not to block students from enrolling in online or traditional education, or from sitting for examinations and withholding results if they have not paid their tuition.

All school boards and mediums would immediately execute the decree waiving 15% of costs, it stated. Parents' organizations have been pleading with the state government to reduce school costs in light of the COVID-19 epidemic scenario.
