It almost certain that NEET 2017 results would not be declared as per scheduled on June 8. After getting a stay on all proceedings of the exam till June 7 from the Madurai bench of Madras . Now, a fresh writ petition has been filed in the Madras High Court to cancel the entrance examination which was held on May 7. The petitioner J Gladwin prayed for admitting students to MBBS and BDS courses based on 10+2 marks. The case is to be taken for hearing in the coming week, reported PTI.

2017 was conducted in 10 languages and different languages had different sets of question papers. Some students have challenged this pattern, arguing that by framing different question papers, CBSE had denied them a level playing field. They said, instead, the Board could have translated a common question paper. They alleged that Indian language question papers were tougher than English. On this ground, Justice M V Muralidharan has granted an interim injunction asking the government not to publish results until June 7.

The court also directed the Union health and family welfare secretary, DG health services, Medical Council of India (MCI), Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and Government of Tamil Nadu to reply by June 7. According to reports, with none of the concerned agencies seeking an early hearing, it is unlikely that the NEET 2017 result would be declared on June 8.
