CBSE UGC NET 2017 November: On behalf of University Grant Commission (UGC), Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) conducted National Eligibility Test (NET) examination on November 5 across the country. Twice in a year, UGC NET exams are held for determining the eligibility of assistant professor or junior research fellowship for universities and colleges in India. As per UGC NET 2017 exam pattern, the exam had three papers and it was compulsory for candidates to appear in all papers. The UGC NET 2017 paper I was of general nature intended to assess the teaching/research aptitude of the candidate. Paper II and III of UGC NET 2017 were subject specifics as selected by candidates.
CBSE UGC NET 2017 Paper Analysis (November)
According to CBSE, November 5, UGC NET exam was held in 91 cities at 1700 centres across the country. As many as 75% candidates who have registered for UGC NET 2017 have appeared in the examination. According to CBSE, about 9.30 lakh candidates including 4,09,439 male and 519557 female candidates along with 3 transgenders registered for the exam. The CBSE UGC NET 2017 November exam comprised of three papers – Paper 1, Paper 2 and Paper 3. The first paper known as “General Paper on Teaching & Research Aptitude” was common for all the candidates and rest two – Paper 1 and Paper 2 were subject based. This time, CBSE conducted UGC NET exam for as many as 94 subjects. While Paper 1 comprised 60 questions and carried a total of 100 marks and Paper 2 had 50 questions and carried a total of 100 marks, the Paper 3 was consist of 75 questions and carried a total of 150 marks. According to experts and some of the students who had appeared in different subjects said that the level of paper was easy to moderate but this could be different for different candidates and subjects.
CBSE UGC NET 2017 Answer Keys (November)
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is a nodal agency to conduct UGC NET 2017 examination. It started the online registration process on August 11 and it ended on September 11. The exam was held today in a separate sessions across the country. CBSE will release the UGC NET 2017 Answer Keys most likely in January 2018. The exact date is yet to be announced. Once, UGC NET Answer Keys are released it could be be challenge if any discrepancy is found within a stipulated time as announced by CBSE. Last time, CBSE UGC NET exam was held on 22 January 2017. The January UGC NET Exams were conducted for 83 subjects at 88 selected UGC NET examination centres.
According to UGC NET rules, while the candidates who qualify for the award of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) are eligible to pursue research and are eligible for being Assistant Professor. On the other hand, a candidate who only qualify UGC NET exams but not JRF, is eligible for being appointed as Assistant Professor in any university, college across India.
CBSE says its role is only upto the conduct of NET Examination and declaration of result. The e-certificates to qualified candidates are issued by UGC-NET Bureau.
