Taiwanese firm ASUS has roped in Bollywood actress as the new brand ambassador for laptops and smartphones. The M S Dhoni: The Untold Story star would feature in upcoming campaigns. ASUS portfolio includes Zenbo, ZenFone, ZenBook and a range of IT devices and components, along with AR, VR and IoT. The company aims to use actress popularity to reach out to young people who are the key focus group for laptops and smartphones sales.

“We are so excited to have Disha as our new brand ambassador and welcome her into the ASUS family. Besides her incredible beauty, she stands for modernity, freshness, self-confidence, trendy, elegance and spontaneity. Everything that we convey through our wide product range,” stated Arindam Saha, head marketing, ASUS India.

“Besides, today we are catering to an audience that defines ambitious, forward-moving, non-stop pulse of India and Disha understands the pulse of this audience well. Her vibrant persona, pan-India appeal and her confident attitude makes her the perfect ambassador for our brand. We are confident that Disha's popularity will further help complement and articulate the future direction of the brand ASUS,” he added.

Asus India says that this year business has grown. Through the year, the consumers have seen ASUS India brands engaging them through interesting digital marketing campaigns. Going forward, Disha shall be seen across ATL, BTL campaigns and also POSM.

ASUS employs more than 17,000 people worldwide and over 5,500 in R&D. It has $13.3 billion of revenue in 2016.

STMicro quarterly profit declines by 18.4% owing to slow demand
