West Bengal is likely to fill over 30,000 vacancies through WBTET 2017. A notification in this regard was issued after state education minister Partha Chatterjee asked the primary education department to incorporate two criterion for the applicants. The eligible candidates can apply online through wbbpe.org and wbsed.gov.in till October 29. Recently the government announced that candidates applying for TET need to have two years of teachers’ training and 50% marks in Higher Secondary examination. Even students seeking jobs on compensatory grounds need to fulfil the criterion.
Though the date of the examination is yet to be fixed but it is likely to be conducted in December this year, an official of the department said. The general category candidates would have to score at least 50 per cent and the reserved category aspirants – SC, ST and OBC– 45 per cent in the Higher Secondary examination to be eligible to appear in the WBTET.
WBTET 2017 Recruitment
The WBTET 2017 is mandatory for getting teaching jobs in West Bengal state-aided primary schools. Apart from the reserved category candidates, this relaxation of 5 per cent marks will also be applicable for family members of a state government employee, who died in harness, board president said. There will not be any relaxation regarding the completion of a two-year teachers’ training programme.
