Dhaka — The Minister of Posts and Telecommunications Mustafa Jabbar has said that Bangladesh is on the verge of starting an era of AI, IoT, robotics, blockchain device application.
While addressing a webinar on Saturday as the chief guest at a virtual meeting on the crisis and hardware business crisis organized by the Elephant Road Computer Association (ECS) in Dhaka last night.
He also said, digital Bangladesh is now visible, and it will be implemented upfront. Digital devices will be transformed into a continuation of this.
He said, “We have made arrangements to bring digital connectivity to the doorsteps of the people as the backbone of Digital Bangladesh.” He also mentioned that many developed countries will not be able to come on par with us. As a result, we will be able to meet the challenges of technology.
The event was presided over by Mostafizur Rahman Tuhin, President of the Association. Representatives of BCS branches of Mirpur, Chittagong, Khulna and Jessore branches of Dhaka spoke.
“The Minister noted that challenging times are coming for people of all classes and professions, including business, industry, due to the global epidemic.”
He said: “ low-wage day labourers, including small-to-large-medium traders, and middle-income people are all in crisis due to corona.”
Mustafa Jabbar, a pioneer of the computer revolution, said that the need for digital devices including computers and routers are essential for digital Bangladesh.
He expressed the view that it is possible to include information technology and information technology services in emergency services by taking appropriate role of the trade body, adding that the representatives of trade body should speak in the common interest of all.
Describing Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina as the most far-sighted and sympathetic towards Bangladesh’s IT industries, she said that in 1998-99, she waived Tk210 crore tax on computers.
As a result, computers have become accessible to the general public. Under his dynamic leadership, breakthroughs have taken place in the software, telecom, digital services and internet services.
The Minister mentioned that it is possible to face any challenge if we can stay ahead in technology.
Speakers at the event expressed their views on bringing digital device products and services under the emergency period.
