In order to speed-up and improve the management of government letters, files, proposals and funds, 36 districts in Maharashtra have implemented Integrated Planning Office Automation System (iPAS).
iPAS is a software-led approach that digitise and automate government processes to reduce the response turnaround time of files and help in managing districts level developmental funds. According to officials, in Maharashtra, this technology has reduced turnaround time of each letter by 50%.
Built by Nashik-based technology firm ESDS Solution, iPAS has already digitised 530 schemes under the district planning committees (DPCs) in Maharashtra and the company’s looks to take it to different states to enable government organisations to automate their processes and improve transparency, said a senior executive.
“iPAS ensures transparency of work between the District Planning Committees with its easy work tracking and scheme monitoring module. It has successfully digitised 530 schemes under the DPCs in Maharashtra,” ESDS founder and CEO Piyush Somani said, adding that he expects the 100 crore Indians to benefit from iPAS which drives the digital transformation journey of district planning committees across the country.
According ESDS, 36 DPCs and implementing agencies across Maharashtra have undergone hands-on training and started live work for FY 19-20 and are on track for a 100% paperless office from 1st April, 2020.
The tech firm asserted that the iPAS has been developed keeping in mind all the government guidelines to be accessible at one location. “It is a flexible software to transform project management digitally, aims to serve proactive governance to DPCs. iPAS ensures transparency to DPCs offering a 360-degree view of work, schemes and projects,” said Somani.
Explaining about the different features of iPAS, ESDS said that Work Monitoring System (WMS) and Fund Management and Monitoring system (FMS) are an integral parts of iPAS. While WMS ensures work mapping and quality control with time bound progress tracking, the committees can check allocation and availability of government, MLA or MP funds with Fund Management and Monitoring system (FMS).
The solution comes with the analytical dashboard to ensure a check on the progress of the works undertaken, said ESDS.
“If you broadly look, iPAS is speeding up work by eliminating delays due to files traveling to different locations and offices,” Somani explained, adding that it is not only reducing the costs but also assisting the committees to maintain the accuracy of work and delivering it on time.
