American software company MongoDB Inc announced the launch of a pay-as-you-go MongoDB Atlas offering via Google Console. According to the company, the new subscription-based payment method will simplify the process of developers and enterprises procuring MongoDB on Google Cloud. MongoDB is a NoSQL database management system that developers primarily use for the field range and regular-expression searches on the server-side.
According to the company, customers will only pay for the resources they consume and can scale up or down based on their needs while using their Google accounts. MongoDB Atlas is a multi-cloud database service for developers.
The company said that Atlas can be integrated with a variety of Google Cloud products, including BigQuery, Apigee, Tensorflow, Cloud Run, App Engine, EventArc, Cloud Functions, DataStream, Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), Dataproc, Dataflow, and Pub/Sub.
Along with these new offerings, MongoDB and Google Cloud have also expanded their joint reach across 28 global regions, most recently adding Toronto and Santiago.
Alan Chhabra, Executive Vice President of Worldwide Partners, MongoDB stated that both the firms have a long history of collaborating on customer success in a variety of industries, including financial services and retail, on a global scale.
“Developers benefit by having MongoDB Atlas now featured in the database section of Google Cloud’s console, increasing the visibility and velocity of Atlas with a wider group of users,” said Chhabra.
