NTT DATA, a Japanese and IT services company has completed its acquisition of Niveus Solutions, a cloud engineering company specialising in Cloud Platform (GCP) services headquartered in Udupi and Mangalore. The transaction follows the definitive agreement announced in November 2024. details of the acquisition were not disclosed.

The acquisition strengthens NTT DATA’s position in GCP services and expands its capabilities in cloud modernisation, data analytics, and artificial intelligence. Niveus Solutions adds over 1,000 GCP engineering professionals to NTT DATA’s team, increasing its expertise in cloud transformation solutions. The integration aligns with NTT DATA’s strategy to enhance its Google Cloud Business Unit and broaden its cloud and AI portfolio.

The company’s acquisition of Niveus Solutions is part of its broader strategy to scale cloud offerings and meet increasing demand for cloud-based solutions across industries. The acquisition enhances the IT major’s ability to provide specialised cloud services for clients in financial services, manufacturing, automotive, retail, and logistics.

Charlie Li, Head of Cloud and Services at NTT DATA, stated that the addition of Niveus Solutions positions NTT DATA as a significant system integrator for Google Cloud. The company aims to support enterprises in their digital transformation efforts by leveraging GCP’s modernisation and AI capabilities.

With increasing global adoption of cloud and AI-driven solutions, NTT DATA aims to accelerate innovation through its expanded Google Cloud Business Unit. The integration of Niveus Solutions is expected to strengthen the company’s ability to deliver industry-specific cloud services tailored to complex business needs.

Suyog Shetty, CEO and co-founder of Niveus Solutions, said that joining NTT DATA will provide an opportunity to extend cloud modernisation solutions to new markets. The acquisition will leverage India’s talent pool of GCP professionals to support businesses in their cloud adoption efforts.

According to industry estimates, worldwide spending on public cloud services is projected to reach $679 billion in 2024 and exceed $1 trillion by 2027. The demand for cloud-based AI applications is expected to drive further investment in cloud modernisation and secure digital transformation solutions.

NTT DATA’s expanded collaboration with Google Cloud is a key component of its cloud strategy. The company has focused on integrating generative AI and data analytics to address business challenges and enhance enterprise efficiency. The acquisition of Niveus Solutions aligns with this initiative by strengthening its expertise in GCP-native modernisation and AI-driven cloud solutions.

John Lombard, Chief Executive Officer of NTT DATA APAC, emphasised that the acquisition enhances the company’s ability to meet the growing demand for AI-powered cloud solutions. He noted that the integration of Niveus Solutions is expected to create new opportunities for cloud-based innovation in the Asia-Pacific region and beyond.
