Dhaka — The despite the restrictions, more than one crore mobile connections have gone out of the capital Dhaka before the holy Eid-ul-Fitr. And till Saturday, 61 lakh 94 thousand 643 connections have returned to Dhaka. Posts and Telecommunications Minister shared the information on his return to Dhaka with a status on Facebook.

The information was obtained by tracking the location of the mobile connection from May 15 to 21, he said. According to the information given by the Minister, Grameenphone has 29 lakh 35 thousand 999, Robi 11 lakh 50 thousand 346, 17 lakh 94 thousand 987, and Government Teletalk has 3 lakh 13 thousand 311 connections.

In this regard, the Minister of Posts and Telecommunications Mustafa Jabbar said, “This is basically an account of mobile connections coming and going outside Dhaka.”

Not the people's account. Because there are many people under the age of 18 who do not have a SIM, and one person has two or three SIMs. Someone's husband has two or three but the wife has one. ‘

The minister added, “We have received this information by tracking the location of the mobile connection. Our telecom technology industry is not far behind. Rather we are ahead.”

If the health ministry wanted coroner data, I could tell how many corona patients there are in a house. We have already developed such a technical system, he added

And in the future, we will also be able to tell you which mobile set you are using with which SIM. We are doing this because they are very important for security, he noted.

The minister said, ‘As digital as the country will be; Information security will be urgent. Right now we are in a digital security crisis. This crisis will only get worse. So it can't be dealt with by anything other than technology. ‘

According to government data, Grameenphone is at the top in terms of mobile phone connectivity.

Their connection number is 8 crore 75 lakh. Robi has 5 crores 19 lakh 40 thousand connections. Which is second place. On the other hand, Banglalink is in third place.

The number of their connections is 3 crore 62 lakh 50 thousand. And the number of Teletalk connections is 56 lakh 57 thousand.
