In a bid to widen its offering in one of its top priority markets, Chinese technology major has unveiled new smart home solutions for Indian consumers. The new Essential, which comes with built-in Alexa functionality is now available in India. The Lenovo smart clock is equipped with digital smart clock features and has hands-free voice control with Alexa.

According to the company, the new Lenovo Smart Clock Essential is priced at Rs 4,999 and is available in Clay Red and Misty Blue colour variants. The Lenovo smart clock will go on sale on June 15, 2022 on the official website of Lenovo, Amazon India, and will be later available at Lenovo offline retail channels.

The Smart Clock Essential comes in a 4-inch Digital LED (Monochrome, Non-Touch) display that tracks weather, humidity, and the temperature outside. It has built-in Alexa that allows users to set timers, and alarms, take hands-free Alexa-to-Alexa calls, set reminders and add items to their Amazon shopping cart with simple voice commands.

The Lenovo Smart Clock Essential runs on an Amalogic A113X processor and is powered by Linux/Alexa Built-in Operating System. It comes with 4GB of RAM and 4GB of ROM (Flash) and is equipped with Bluetooth 5.1 and has L, G, and P sensors.

Lenovo has a 3W front-firing speaker that allows users to stream songs from Amazon Music, Gaana, JioSaavn, Spotify, and others and also listen to audiobooks and podcasts. The Lenovo Smart Clock Essential can also work as a group speaker which allows the user to play media across multiple devices and rooms.

The Lenovo Smart Clock Essential comes with a mic mute toggle that electrically disconnects the microphones. The smart clock features an auto-dim display for users who are photo-light sensitive and can adjust as per the requirement of the user while still displaying the time. With soft, clicky buttons at the top, users can still control the Smart Clock Essential without having to use their voice.

The Smart Clock Essential comes with a ‘Works with Alexa' badge that allows users to control all compatible smart home appliances with voice commands.

The Lenovo Smart Clock Essential allows users to control lights, plugs, ACs, locks, TVs and fans by giving voice commands. Users can also set up a one-to-all intercom system in their house by adding multiple Lenovo Smart Clock Essential with Alexa Built-in.

Once connected to the same Wi-Fi network, all it will take is a press of a button to broadcast messages to other Smart Clocks — to check on the kids or giving a “DND” notice to the family members in the event of an online meeting/class.
