Bangladesh: bKash cuts cash out charge

This bKash charge will cover all costs including VAT, the customer will not have to spend any extra money for cash out. bKash said this in a press release on Friday morning.

Dhaka: The reduced Cash Out Charge to make customer transactions more affordable. Now the customer can cash out up to Tk25 thousand per month at a cost of Tk14 to 90 paisa per thousand to a favourite agent number.

This bKash charge will cover all costs including , the customer will not have to spend any extra money for cash out. bKash said this in a press release on Friday morning.

According to bKash, It has five and a half crore customers across the country. 95 % of the customers cash out in Tk 25 thousand per month. With that in mind, bKash has come up with this affordable cash-out charge for its customers on its one-decade anniversary.

To get the service, the customer can add a bKash agent as their ‘favourite agent’ according to the calendar month. At the end of the calendar month, you can change the ‘Favorite Agent’ number as needed.

To attach the ‘Favorite Agent’ number, the customer has to follow the next steps by clicking the cash out the icon on the home screen of the bKash app. On the other hand, by dialing * 247 #, you can select the ‘Favorite Number’ menu from the ‘My bKash’ bKash menu and add the ‘Favorite Agent’ number.

In case of cashing out more than Tk25,000 per month, a charge of Tk18.50 per thousand will be applicable. Charges at this rate will also apply to cashouts from agents other than the ‘favourite agent’.

In addition, more than 1500 ATM booths of various commercial banks across the country continue to have the opportunity to cash out Tk14.90 per thousand at any time as required.

According to the bKash notification, people of various professions regularly send money to their loved ones. On the other hand, these loved ones scattered in different parts of the country get regular cash-out services from their nearest bKash agent at their convenience. From now on, mobile financial services have become more affordable for all, including marginalized people, as there is an opportunity to cash out bKash at a lower cost.
