Senior journalist Ashok Malik appointed policy adviser in foreign ministry

Senior journalist has been appointed as policy adviser in external affairs ministry in rank of additional secretary, said a statement.

Malik had earlier served as press secretary to President from August 1, 2017, to July 31 this year.

According to the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet note, Malik, a distinguished fellow of the Observer Research Foundation think-tank will have a two-year tenure from the date he assumes charge “or until further orders, whichever is earlier”.

For his appointment, the post of director in the Indian Foreign Service Grade IV has been temporarily upgraded to additional secretary level in the ministry.
