Digital India Awards: Uttar Pradesh bags e-gov award for ‘Excellence in Digital Governance’

The Food and Civil supplies department has been chosen winner in Awards 2020 under ‘Excellence in Digital Governance’ category.

President Ram Nath Kovind will be giving the Digital India Award 2020 to the Uttar Pradesh (UP) Food and Civil Supplies Department on December 30, according to officials.

The state’s chief minister’s office said in a tweet that the department has been recognised for its e-POS (Points of Sale)-based food distribution, tracking of vehicles transporting food grains and online billing and payment for the food grains purchased from farmers.

“Food and Civil supplies department, UP has been chosen winner in Digital India Awards 2020 under ‘Excellence in Digital Governance’ category. Congratulations to all the concerned who contributed towards bringing this recognition,” , Secretary to UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath, said in a tweet.

The Digital India Awards, instituted under the aegis of the National Portal of India, serve the purpose of bringing to the fore innovative digital solutions and thereby inspiring emulation by all government entities.

This year jury included senior government officials from Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (), NIC, STQC, NeGD, Data Security Council of India, IIT Delhi, Management Development Institute, Gurgaon. Scientist-G & DDG, NIC Alka Mishra was the Member Convener for this year awards.
