With Kumbh Mela getting bigger and bigger every year, the intervention of technology has also significantly increased. This year, Uttar Pradesh government is all set to use high-tech and modern surveillance technology to ensure smooth conduct of Kumbh Mela 2019.
Kumbh Mela is one of the largest gatherings of the people in the world for an event. This year, it is scheduled to be held from January 15 to March 14, 2019. According to senior government officials, every measure is being taken to ensure smooth conduct of mela. The government will provide modern facilities armed with basic amenities across the location of the mela. This time, the mela will be spread over an area of 45 km from the earlier 20 km radius.
This year, the geographical location of Kumbh Mela covers four locations with the mela site rotating from Haridwar (Uttarakhand) on the Ganga, Ujjain (Madhya Pradesh) on Shipra, Nashik (Maharashtra) on Godavari to Prayagraj at the confluence of Ganga, Yamuna and the mythical Saraswati.
As many as 3,000 tents having the capacity of accommodating 6,000 people, 1.42 lakh toilets, more than 40,000 LED lights, a modern control and command centre and 1,400 CCTV cameras will monitor the crowd, said Uttar Pradesh Energy Minister Shrikant Sharma to reporters.
People from 192 countries are expected to participate in this year Kumbh Mela. So, the state government is making elaborate arrangement for the mela.

“Elaborate arrangements are being made for the Maha Kumbh. People from 192 countries will participate in the event organised by the Uttar Pradesh government. We are inviting people from across the country to attend the function for which arrangements are being made on a large-scale,” news agency PTI quoted Sharma as saying to reporters.
