Within days of going live to accept pre-booking order from customers across India for its upcoming smart feature phone, Reliance Jio has now suspended pre-booking for JioPhone. Now a person who wish to buy JioPhone can register their interest on the Jio.com and company promise to intimate them once it is available.
The much awaited pre-booking for Reliance Jio JioPhone began on August 24 at 5.30 PM. Like the issue faced by e-commerce portal Flipkart during its initial flash sale, Reliance Jio website also went down within hours of opening pre-booking. Some of the reports attributed the company’s inability to handle large traffic or multiple request, however officially Reliance Jio did not give any reason.
A message on the Reliance Jio website thanks people for pre-booking JioPhone in millions and says, “We will inform you when the pre-booking resumes.” However, there is no clarity as to when pre-booking will resume. Company has removed the pre-booking option and replaced it with ‘register now’. Now, people can only show their interest to own JioPhone by registering themselves.
To register, one needs to go to Jio.com and click on the ‘Register Now‘ option on the main page. It will take to another page where one can register their interest to buy JioPhone by providing their details such as name, email address, phone number and pin code. The business user will have to provide details such as company name, PAN number, number of devices required.
What about people who have already pre-booked and paid for their JioPhone? They need not to worry about anything. If at all there is any doubt, they can check the status of their device by dialing the number 18008908900 or by visiting MyJio App. Within tap of few buttons or by providing basic details, they will be able to get the status.
