Kochi – Underwater robotics EyeROV said on Tuesday had secured a ₹47 crore contract from the Indian Navy to supply advanced Underwater Remotely Operated Vehicles (UWROVs).

The company said the deal would strengthen the Navy’s capability with indigenously developed technology. EyeROV’s UWROVs have been tested in extreme conditions, including turbulent deep seas and the Antarctic, the company added.

The EyeROV TROUT model, rated for depths of 300 metres, is designed for both defence and commercial applications. According to EyeROV, it can carry advanced payloads for missions such as underwater surveillance and reconnaissance.

Kannappa P., co-founder and CTO, said the Navy demonstrated that Indian innovation could compete internationally in defence deep-tech.

Founded in 2017 and headquartered in Kochi, EyeROV has carried out over 100 deployments in India, West Asia, APAC and Europe, the company said.
