Coming hard on another prominent US politician, Twitter Inc has announced to permanently ban the personal account of Republican US Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene for tweets that “repeatedly violated the social media’s misinformation policy on COVID-19.”
According to the social media platform, it has previously temporarily suspended Greene’s account, @mtgreenee. It has also labelled some of her tweets “misleading.”
“We permanently suspended the account you referenced (@mtgreenee) for repeated violations of our COVID-19 misinformation policy,” Twitter said in a statement. “We’ve been clear that, per our strike system for this policy, we will permanently suspend accounts for repeated violations of the policy.”

Greene, however, still has access to her professional account, @RepMGT, but Twitter did not say what was tweeted to earn a permanent suspension. Meanwhile, Greene in a statement said that she was suspended for tweeting statistics from the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System.
“Twitter is an enemy to America and can’t handle the truth,” Greene said. “That’s fine, I’ll show America we don’t need them and it’s time to defeat our enemies.” Greene said that social media platforms “can’t stop the truth from being spread far and wide. Big Tech can’t stop the truth. Communist Democrats can’t stop the truth.”
