IISF 2020: PM Narendra Modi to deliver inaugural address

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will deliver the inaugural address at the India International Science Festival (IISF) 2020 on 22 December at 4:30 PM via video conferencing. Union Minister Dr will also be present on the occasion, said a statement.

To promote scientific temper in society, the Ministry of Science & and Ministry of Earth Sciences in association with Vijnana Bharati conceptualized the India International Science Festival.

IISF 2020 is going to be organized from 22 December on virtual platforms. This will be the largest science festival to be held on virtual platform. The central theme of this year’s festival is “Science for Self-reliant India and Global Welfare”.

The festival begins on 22nd December, the birthday of Srinivas Ramanujam, the world renowned Indian mathematician and culminates on 25th December, the birthday of former Prime Minister who was a firm believer of development through Science & Technology.

According to Shekhar C. Mande Secretary, DSIR and Director General, Council of Scientific & Industrial , the objective of IISF is to induce the person about different facets of science and technology.

IISF is an annual event organized jointly among others by DST, DBT, MoEF, MoHWF and CSIR from the Government of India and VijnanaBharati (VIBHA) as well as with support of a large number of other organisations.
