Key Points
- Swift Pro starts at Rs 79,999 with Intel Core Ultra 5 and Ultra 7 processors
- Laptop weighs 1.2 kg with 14-inch display and optional OLED panel
- Available at Croma, Reliance, Vijay Sales, Amazon and Acer stores
Acer has launched the Swift Pro laptop in India with a starting price of Rs 79,999, targeting professionals and content creators who need a portable machine for productivity and creative work.
The Taiwanese technology company announced the laptop at its Next@Acer India event held on 10 August in Delhi. The Swift Pro weighs approximately 1.2 kg and features a metal chassis, making it one of the lighter options in the premium thin-and-light segment.
The laptop is powered by Intel Core Ultra 5 and Ultra 7 H-series processors, which are Intel’s latest chips designed for laptops that need to handle demanding tasks such as video editing, software development and running artificial intelligence workloads locally on the device rather than in the cloud.
Sudhir Goel, chief business officer, Acer India, said the company designed the Swift Pro for users who need performance without compromising on portability. “The Swift Pro has been created for professionals, creators, entrepreneurs and innovators who are constantly building, creating and achieving more,” Goel said.
Acer Swift Pro display options
The Swift Pro features a 14-inch WUXGA display with a 16:10 aspect ratio, meaning the screen is slightly taller than traditional 16:9 laptop displays, providing more vertical space for documents and spreadsheets. The display uses narrow bezels around the edges to maximise the viewing area.
Buyers can optionally configure the laptop with a WUXGA OLED display offering up to 400 nits brightness. OLED panels produce deeper blacks and more vibrant colours compared to standard LCD screens because each pixel emits its own light rather than relying on a backlight.
Graphics processing is handled by Intel Arc integrated graphics, which share the processor’s resources rather than using a separate dedicated graphics chip. This configuration is adequate for video editing and light creative work but may struggle with intensive gaming or 3D rendering.
Memory and storage
The laptop supports up to 32GB of LPDDR5 memory, the latest standard for laptop RAM that offers faster data transfer speeds and lower power consumption than previous generations. Storage options extend to 1TB using PCIe NVMe solid-state drives, which provide faster read and write speeds than traditional hard drives or older SATA-based SSDs.
For video calls, Acer has included a Full HD webcam with a privacy shutter, a physical cover that slides over the camera lens when not in use. The laptop connects wirelessly through Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2, and includes a fingerprint reader integrated into the power button for biometric login.
The Swift Pro features a 180-degree hinge, allowing the screen to fold completely flat. This can be useful for sharing the display with colleagues across a table or using the laptop on angled surfaces.
Connectivity options include USB Type-C ports, HDMI 2.0 for connecting external monitors, USB Type-A ports for older peripherals and a MicroSD card reader for transferring files from cameras or other devices.
