Homegrown data center and cloud services company ESDS Software Solution has announced plans to hire 300 AI and machine learning (ML) engineers over the next six months. The recruitment drive is part of an ambitious project to develop an AI-powered autonomous cloud platform, said a statement.
This new autonomous platform aims to simplify the management, deployment, and transformation of cloud infrastructure across various environments, significantly reducing the need for manual intervention, said the company.
The new hires will expand ESDS’s workforce from over 1,100 employees to around 1,400, with positions distributed across its offices in Nashik, Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, and Mohali.
While ESDS’s primary focus remains on India, the company is also working to strengthen its presence in the Middle East and the United Kingdom.
“Today’s cloud infrastructure often requires manual intervention for deployment and management. An autonomous cloud platform powered by AI could revolutionise this process,” said ESDS CEO and founder Piyush Somani.
“Users could simply select an architecture, deploy it, and then let the system handle everything else. This platform will enable automatic data growth, vertical and horizontal autoscaling, operating system management, and application management,” he said.
According to Somani, the App modernisation is accelerating rapidly as people replace and upgrade first-generation applications to meet today’s technological advancements and needs.
“This surge in modernisation has also sparked increased interest in low-code/no-code (LCNC) platforms. When combined with AI, LCNC is poised to be a disruptive technology,” he added.
The company said that it serves a wide range of clients, including the Software Technology Parks of India (STPI), SIDBI Bank, Union Bank of India, State Bank of India Capital, and over 400 cooperative banks. Notable clients also include Embassy Group, Vadilal, and Unibic.
The decision to expand its workforce and develop an autonomous cloud platform is a strategic response to the growing complexity of IT environments and the increasing demand for efficient, scalable solutions. According to a report by Gartner, AI will play a critical role in IT operations, with 40% of large enterprises adopting AI-augmented automation by 2025.
The autonomous cloud platform being developed by ESDS is expected to address several key challenges faced by enterprises, including real-time data processing, enhanced security, and seamless integration across different cloud services. By leveraging AI and ML, ESDS aims to provide a unified management system that can adapt to the dynamic requirements of modern businesses.
A report by NASSCOM indicates that the demand for AI talent in India is expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 33.49% from 2020 to 2025. This demand is driven by the widespread adoption of AI across various sectors, including finance, healthcare, and retail.
ESDS’s strategic hiring plan includes recruiting talent from top engineering institutions and conducting specialised training programs to equip new hires with the necessary skills. The company said it is also collaborating with academic institutions and industry partners to foster innovation and research in AI and cloud technologies.
In addition to workforce expansion, ESDS said it is investing in research and development to enhance its AI capabilities. The company is exploring partnerships with AI startups and technology firms to integrate advanced features into its platform. These efforts aim to create a robust ecosystem that supports the development and deployment of AI-driven solutions.
