Ahead of its crucial $1.1-billion initial public offering (IPO), the Zomato management has announced to elevate top company executive Akriti Chopra as company co-founder. Chopra, a known name in the company, has been associated with the platforms since 2011 when she started as a senior manager of finance and operations.
She later became the chief financial officer, a role which was taken over by Akshant Goyal in 2019. She has also been appointed chief people officer by the head of people development.
“Tuki (Akriti, I know this doesn’t mean much to you, because you have always been a founder at Zomato. Sometimes more than me, but never less than me. Thank you. Congratulations for now officially being a founder at Zomato,” Goyal wrote in the email.
