US-based mission-critical software firm Wind River has appointed Vijayendra Singh as head of customer marketing for India and the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region. Singh joins from Tata Communications, where he served as deputy general manager of marketing and communications.
His appointment comes amid Wind River’s expansion in India and APAC, where demand for edge computing and industrial IoT solutions is rising. Singh will drive customer marketing strategies to strengthen engagement with enterprises in telecommunications, automotive and aerospace sectors.
With 20 years of B2B marketing experience, Singh has held key roles at Dell EMC, BMC Software and IBM. At Tata Communications, he led marketing for digital infrastructure solutions. Prior to that, he managed vertical marketing at Dell EMC and global web marketing for IBM’s System z mainframe division.
Singh’s background in enterprise technology marketing is expected to bolster Wind River’s outreach in key sectors like telecom and automotive, where demand for edge solutions is growing.
Singh holds a postgraduate diploma in business administration from the University of Wales and a computer science degree from Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University.
Wind River provides software for 5G networks, autonomous vehicles and aerospace systems, serving telecom providers, automotive manufacturers and industrial firms deploying IoT solutions.
The company has expanded its India operations in recent years, establishing Bengaluru as an APAC engineering and R&D hub covering markets like Japan, Australia and Southeast Asia.
In his role, Singh will collaborate with sales and product teams to align marketing initiatives with customer needs, overseeing demand generation, engagement programmes and regional campaigns.
Wind River, acquired by Aptiv PLC from TPG Capital in 2022, competes with Red Hat, VMware by Broadcom and Siemens in embedded and edge computing software.
Singh will be based in Bengaluru, home to one of Wind River’s largest R&D facilities outside the US. Reporting to the global head of marketing, he will work closely with sales and product teams to sharpen the company’s edge computing proposition against rivals, including cloud providers expanding into the space.
