Low-end smartphone maker Alcatel is all set to launch two new tablets based on Android Oreo platform during the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018 which is being held in Barcelona from February 26 to March 1, 2018. The two tablets named as Alcatel 1T 7 and Alcatel 1T 10 run on quad-core MediaTek processors with 1 GB RAM and they have been priced aggressively to focus on low-end of the market. In fact, they are cheaper than the Amazon Fire. While 1T 7 is a 7-inch tablet with price tag of €70, the 1T 10 is a 10-inch tablet with price tag of €100.
Both the tablets do not support 802.11ac Wi-Fi, which has been standard for years now. This is something that many users are likely to find quite strange given the fact that home broadband speed is increasing. The specification and features for both the tablets is more or less same except their display size – the 7 has a 7-inch 1024 x 600 display, and the 10 has a 10-inch 1280 x 800 display. Both the tablets come with Kids Mode to ensure kids don't get sore eyes. The Eye Care feature limits blue light and helps reduce eye fatigue as well.
Both tablets have plastic body. Their display quality is average. Overall, it seems to be an average tablet with no super performance for low-end of the market. The only attracting thing its price.
