With government of India on mission to make Aadhaar mandatory for subsidy distributions to phone connections, the private companies also do not want to be left behind, on Wednesday global design software giant Adobe announce the integration of Aadhaar to its Adobe Sign services and also launched data centre in India to allay the fear of security and data sovereignty.
Adobe Sign is an enterprise e-signing solution that significantly speeds up signature-based processes. One can sign, send, track, and manage documents from website browser and business apps. Adobe Sign smoothly integrate with a range of deployment methodologies and popular business systems. It is used by numerous Fortune 1000 companies as well as financial institutions and healthcare organisations across the world.
In recent past, this service of Adobe Sign has seen decent traction in India and with government focusing on Digital India and digitisation of government department spurring up, software firm sees huge business opportunity both in government and enterprise segments for Adobe Sign services in India.
To prove its points, Adobe commissioned a survey by Forrester Consulting. The survey whose finding were released recently claimed that “market for e-signatures in India is growing at a CAGR of 57%, and is expected to cross over a massive 90 million transactions by 2020.”
Building on this premise, Adobe has made two strategic investments in India– integration of Aadhaar-based authentication in its e-signature solution Adobe Sign and the launch of a local data centre.
“We are confident that this Aadhar based signing in Adobe Sign will accelerate use cases like digital onboarding of customers and employees, and taking citizen services online – augmenting our national vision on Digital India,” stated Kulmeet Bawa, Managing Director, South Asia, Adobe.
“Digital technology has fundamentally changed the markets in which companies operate and the speed at which they need to operate to remain competitive. e-Signatures remove the friction inherent in transactions that involve people, documents, and data to create faster, more convenient and secure processes,” he added.
According to Adobe-Forrester survey, 57% of Indian businesses indicated that if they were to adopt a SaaS solution, they would prefer for its hosting location to be in India. In response to this and to augment the adoption of e-signatures in India, Adobe has announced the roll out of a new local data centre in India, said company.
Adobe informed that these products are led by Adobe’s engineering labs in India, which comprises nearly one third of the company’s global R&D operations. “India is a strategic focus for Adobe, and our engineering labs are committed to making deep investments to deliver innovative and customised solutions to address the needs of our customers here, as well as other parts of the world,” said Abhigyan Modi, Vice President, Engineering, Adobe Document Cloud.
