Lax Gopisetty, head of Infosys Public Services, remains unreachable after flash floods struck the Nepal-Tibet border region, the Bengaluru-headquartered IT services company confirmed on Friday.
Gopisetty was visiting Nepal in a personal capacity when the floods struck. Infosys said its immediate priority was to locate him, establish contact and ensure his safety.
“We can confirm that our colleague Lax Gopisetty, who was visiting the region in a personal capacity, is currently not reachable,” the company said in a statement. “We are working with relevant agencies to gather information and establish contact.”
The company said it was in close communication with his family and providing all necessary support. “Our thoughts are with Lax and all those affected by this tragedy,” Infosys added.
Infosys Public Services is a wholly-owned subsidiary that focuses on government and public sector clients in the United States and Canada. The unit delivers digital transformation, application services and consulting to federal, state and local government agencies.

The Ministry of External Affairs said on Friday that at least 320 Indians remain missing and 400 others are stranded on the Chinese side following the devastating flash floods along the Nepal-Tibet border.
MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said India stands ready to extend all possible help to Kathmandu to deal with the situation. He confirmed that 153 Indian nationals stranded on the Chinese side have safely crossed over to Nepal.
A group of 21 Indians arrived in New Delhi on Friday afternoon, a day after they reached Kathmandu from the flood-affected areas. The ministry said it was coordinating with Nepali authorities and other agencies to assist stranded and missing Indian citizens.
Who is Lax Gopisetty?
According to his profile on the Infosys website, Gopisetty advises public sector organisations on strategy, technology, operations and transformation. He oversees company strategy and execution to deliver on the unit’s objectives.
Prior to his current role, he served as global vice president at Infosys and head of business applications and digital workspace service. In that position, he expanded the practice globally across the Americas, Europe and Asia.
Before joining the Bengaluru-based company, Gopisetty was a managing director at Accenture, where he led a segment of the health and public services business in North America. His career also includes leadership roles at BearingPoint, IBM, PwC and HCL, where he built high-growth practices.
