Chinese smartphone maker Redmi is preparing to launch its new flagship device, the Redmi K90 Pro Max, in China on October 23. The smartphone will introduce a Bose-powered 2.1-channel sound system — a first for the brand — featuring a dedicated subwoofer speaker intended to deliver deeper bass and more balanced sound output across frequencies.
The 2.1-channel setup includes three speakers, one of which acts as a subwoofer to enhance low-end audio. The “Sound by Bose” logo appears on a circular rear grille near the camera housing, confirming a new collaboration between the two companies.
The upgraded configuration is designed to improve sound clarity and depth for activities such as mobile gaming, video streaming and music playback — areas where smartphones have traditionally struggled to produce full-bodied sound.
The Redmi K90 Pro Max will be powered by Qualcomm‘s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, placing it in the upper tier of Android devices. The phone is also expected to support 100W fast charging, which could allow it to reach a significant battery level within minutes.
According to company teasers and industry reports, Redmi will introduce new finishes for the device, including a denim-textured blue variant and a Flowing Gold White option. Both designs aim to give the handset a more premium appearance compared to previous Redmi K-series models.
Redmi K90 Pro Max design and features
Images released ahead of the launch show a design with ultra-slim bezels, a centrally aligned punch-hole front camera, and a 2×2 rectangular camera layout on the back.
The additional Bose-branded speaker sits near the camera module, offering a unique design element that distinguishes the Pro Max variant from other models in the lineup.
Beyond sound and performance, the device is expected to feature AMOLED display technology with high refresh rates for smooth visuals and improved responsiveness.
While full specifications are yet to be confirmed, industry observers suggest that the K90 Pro Max will aim to compete with other performance-focused flagships in the mid-premium category.
The Redmi K90 series — including the K90, K90 Pro and K90 Pro Max — will be officially unveiled in China on October 23.
While Redmi has not announced pricing or global availability, analysts expect the Pro Max model to reach international markets later, possibly under Xiaomi’s sub-brand Poco, following a pattern established with earlier K-series releases.
The launch will be closely watched, as it marks Redmi’s push to integrate high-end audio with flagship performance, a combination not often seen in smartphones at this price segment.
