Samsung rolls out One UI 8 with AI features and security upgrades to Galaxy devices

Samsung has begun rolling out its One UI 8 update to Galaxy devices, adding new AI features, security upgrades and customisation tools across smartphones and foldables.

has started rolling out its latest software update, , to selected Galaxy devices, introducing new artificial intelligence features and enhanced security tools.

The update will first be available on the Galaxy S25 series and later extend to the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy Z Fold6, Galaxy Z Flip6, Galaxy S24 FE and other eligible models this year, the company said in a statement.

According to , One UI 8 brings multimodal AI capabilities designed to combine visual, auditory and contextual intelligence. Features include Gemini Live, which allows users to interact with AI in real time without switching between apps, and Circle to Search with Google, which offers gaming assistance and real-time translation on screen.

The company said the update also adds personalised suggestions through tools like Now Bar and Now Brief, which provide app activity, daily updates, reminders and media recommendations. Samsung added that the software integrates with Galaxy Watch to deliver health insights.

On the security side, One UI 8 introduces Knox Enhanced Encrypted Protection, which creates app-specific encrypted storage, and an upgraded Secure Wi-Fi service using post-quantum cryptography. Knox Matrix, another feature, can sign devices out of Samsung accounts if they are flagged for risks and notify users across connected Galaxy devices.

Samsung said the interface has also been optimised for different device formats. Large-screen devices will see enhancements to multitasking, such as the ability to drag and drop AI-generated content into workflows. Other tools include Audio Eraser, designed to filter background , and expanded customisation options for wallpapers and FlexWindow displays.

The company added that new accessibility tools, such asCall Captions and AI-powered translation through Interpreter, are also included.

The rollout of One UI 8 marks Samsung’s latest step in integrating AI more deeply across its devices as smartphone makers expand offerings in areas such as real-time communication, productivity and personalisation.
