solutions provider has announced an investment of ₹40 crore in the development of EVA, a voice-first product designed to improve customer experience across industries. The company said the platform, built entirely in India, supports more than 95 languages and adapts in real time to different enterprise environments.

Founded in 2010, blackNgreen supplies digital solutions to more than 100 mobile operators in Asia, the Middle East, Africa and South America. The launch of EVA, the company said, represents the next phase of its growth as it moves further into AI-driven services.

Rahul Gupta, co-founder of blackNgreen, said the company was applying its experience in telecom to new areas. “For over a decade, we’ve been at the forefront of digital innovation for telecom operators worldwide. We are applying that same pioneering DNA to AI, the most transformative technology of our time,” he said. Gupta added that the product had already received encouraging early responses.

Karthik Shankar, co-founder of the company, said he and Gupta had contributed personal funds to the initiative. “We believed in the value so much that Rahul and I invested our personal funds on top to ensure there are no stones left unturned in our quest to build the most advanced voice-first AI product,” he said.

According to the company, EVA consists of five integrated products aimed at different use cases. EVA Customer Care is designed to automate contact centres, lower costs and improve satisfaction rates. EVA Ask Me Anything allows users to query factual information or everyday needs over a phone call, a feature the company said would help bridge the digital divide.

EVA Personal Assistant is aimed at mobile users, offering call management, spam handling and meeting scheduling, and is described as a patent-pending product. EVA Virtual Receptionist is presented as a tool for enterprises to manage high call volumes with CRM integration, while EVA Sales Agent is designed to use AI for lead qualification, cross-selling and upselling.

India has seen increasing investment in AI-powered platforms as companies seek to reduce costs and improve service quality. However, industry observers also caution that the success of such products will depend on their ability to scale effectively across languages and integrate with existing enterprise systems.

They also point to growing competition in the sector, with newer firms such as Weya.ai, Uniphore, Skit.ai and Exato.ai among others offering their own AI-driven customer engagement solutions.

blackNgreen said it employs over 200 people, including research and development staff in India. The company has previously released products such as Magic Voice, SmartConnect and Mobibattle. It said EVA reflects its broader ambition to apply AI to customer engagement on a global scale.
