CBSE NEET 2017 Results: Amid the season of confusion and uncertainty about the result of examinations conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), CBSE NEET 2017 seems to be a new entrant. The recent judgement of the Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court which restrained the CBSE from declaring the results of the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) until June 7 has further added uncertainty.
As per CBSE NEET 2017 schedule, the CBSE NEET 2017 results are expected to be released on June 8. However, candidates going to court for an interim injunction on different grounds is likely to delay the result announcement. CBSE NEET 2017 for undergraduate admission to MBBS and BDS was held across India on May 7. About 11, 38,890 students who have registered for the CBSE NEET 2017 had appeared for the examination at 2200 centres across the country.
CBSE NEET 2017 was conducted in 10 languages and different languages had different sets of question papers. Nine students from Madurai challenged this pattern, arguing that by framing different question papers, CBSE had denied them a level playing field. They said, instead, the Board could have translated a common question paper. They alleged that Indian language question papers were tougher than English. On this ground, Justice M.V. Muralidaran granted the interim injunction asking the government not to publish results until June 7.
With some of the students going to the Supreme Court on different grounds and some state governments writing a complaint letter to the union minister for human resource and development (HRD) that CBSE NEET 2017 questions in a particular language were tougher than English, indicates that the board may not be able to announce the results on June 8.
CBSE NEET 2017— UG is an entrance examination for students who wish to study any graduate medical course – MBBS or BDS – in government or private medical colleges in India. NEET— UG replaces the All India Pre Medical Test (AIPMT) and all individual MBBS exams conducted by states or colleges.
Undergraduate courses at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi, Postgraduate Institute for Medical Education and Research in Chandigarh, Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research JIPMER are outside the NEET’s purview.
