At the National DefTech Summit 2022, Lt. Gen. Anil Kapoor, former director general (IS) and director general (electronics and mechanical ), Indian Army shares his thoughts on “Atmanirbhar Through Technology Strategy.”

He said India needs to put together a technology framework which is integrated. “As a first step, we have Technology Development Centers of private sector and public sector but every sector is working in silos. This has to go and also companies must compliment rather compete with each other,” Lt. Gen. Kapoor said.

He stated that the global order of technology has become very elastic. “In my opinion, modern technology is defined by four D’s: data, digitization, digitalization, and disruption. While data digitalisation and digitisation have resulted in a digital transformation, disruption has changed the business world and business practise. The rule of thumb is that whatever you can define precisely, you can design and develop flawlessly, and this is what technology enables today,” he said.

To focus and create awareness about building a digital foundation to create, run, manage, connect, and intrinsically secure and protect any application on any device and to also find out how next-generation technologies such as artificial intelligence and machine learning, are modernising and innovating various aspects of India’s defence strategy, National DefTech Summit 2022 was organised on November 25 at The Oberoi in New Delhi by Observer Magazine.

The next edition of the summit is scheduled for June 2023 in New Delhi. For more information, you may contact shalini.shukla@.in.
