The global platform for online video creators using YouTube Shorts will soon get a new feature to incorporate from other users within their videos. This comes after the Google-owned video streaming platform announced to roll out the Green Screen feature for YouTube Shorts users.

The new feature will allow creators to include up to 60 seconds of an eligible YouTube VOD or Short that can be used as the background for their original content. YouTube’s new green screen feature allows creators to incorporate both the video and audio from a sampled clip.

At present Youtube has rolled out this feature just for iOS users. This feature will be enabled for users at a later date. The company has not confirmed the official Android launch date yet.

The Users can access the Green Screen feature through the three-dots menu available in the YouTube Shorts app. The online content creators can also disable the Green feature through YouTube Studio if they don’t want other people using their long-form videos on a single or multiple Shorts. However, creators will be able to see a link to the original video in the Shorts player every time someone uses others’ content.

Apart from the Green Screen feature, the Google-owned video platform also announced the Cut functionality last month. Creators can use this feature to add up to five seconds of footage from an eligible Short or YouTube video to their clip. A similar feature called Remixing has played an important role in ‘s success. To compete with TikTok, Youtube follows suit by offering similar tools to its users.
