Panasonic launches Leica DG Vario-Elmarit 50-200mm lens at WPPI 2018

It offers an equivalent zoom range of 100-400mm

Panasonic has launched Leica DG Vario-Elmarit 50-200mm f/2.8-4 ASPH. POWER O.I.S. , with an equivalent focal length of 100-400mm. The Lens designed for Micro Four Thirds cameras, this optic will provide an equivalent zoom range of 100-400mm, making ideal for and wildlife photography, said a statement.

According to Panasonic, the lens features branding, guaranteeing superb optics, while maintaining a relatively compact form factor. Also, the f/2.8-4 maximum aperture will ensure enhanced versatility with a wider range of shooting conditions.

Panasonic said, the other advantages of this lens include POWER O.I.S., which is compatible with Dual I.S. and Dual I.S. 2.0 systems, for stable footage and sharper images. The AF system can be driven at up to 240 fps, making it suitable for tracking fast subjects. It even has a dust- and splash-proof design with freezeproofing to 14°F. It supports the 1.4x and 2.0x teleconverters for extended equivalent focal length ranges of 140-560mm and 200-800mm, respectively.
