Cloud security company Zscaler said it has appointed Andreas Hartl as the Senior Vice President for the Asia Pacific & Japan (APJ) region. In this role, he will focus on leading the business strategy and overseeing investments and team development in the APJ region.
Hartl, who has nearly three decades of experience in the IT industry, previously held leadership roles at Aveva, IBM and Microsoft. His responsibilities involved managing teams and driving revenue growth and market presence.
The company said that Hartl’s appointment is pivotal as it focuses on guiding customers through their zero trust journeys, a critical need in the current digital landscape where technologies like Generative AI are both an opportunity and a threat to enterprise security.
The appointment also aligns with Zscaler’s broader strategy to enhance its leadership team in different markets. The company also announced the appointment of Mike Rich as Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) and President of Global Sales, and Joyce Kim as Chief Marketing Officer (CMO).
Rich brings over 25 years of sales experience, having played a key role in scaling ServiceNow from $80 million to $8.5 billion in revenue. His expertise in customer engagement and sales strategy will be crucial for Zscaler’s next growth phase.
Rich is taking over the reins from Dali Rajic who will now be primarily focusing on scaling Zscaler’s business operations in his capacity as the Chief Operating Officer (COO). This includes lead-to-cash processes and systems, post-sales customer engagements, productivity improvements, and streamlining to maximise value realisation.
Kim, with nearly 30 years of marketing leadership experience, including roles at Twilio, Genesys, Arm, and Microsoft, will lead the global marketing execution, focusing on advancing Zscaler’s brand presence and customer acquisition strategies in the AI and cloud security landscape.
