The very nature of this exam instills a lot of pressure among students, so it crucial to build the right examination hall temperament to handle this pressure. That is why, competitive examination preparation institutes like focuses on continuous testing, assessment and mock examinations.

Over the last 32 years, Vidyamandir Classes has been improving its success rate every year. As many as 46% students have been selected for IIT and about 66% for other engineering colleges across the country. Now, the institute plans to expand to more cities, especially in South.

In an exclusive interview with TechObserver.in Shalini Shukla, Saurabh Kumar, Director Academics, Vidyamandir Classes says, “We aspire to give a 100% satisfaction to the students and will continue to do so with our sincere approach to provide a quality with a progressive mindset. We are also going to launch a one year program, Lakshya Foundation, for Class 8th students from the upcoming session in April 2019.”

What are the key focus of Vidyamandir Classes?

The main focus of Vidyamandir Classes is to keep our students happy and content so that they look forward to their future after learning from our institute. JEE preparation in today's time is no less than any tough & long run challenge for the students. We have always focused on providing knowledge and guidance and thereby create an environment that not only guides students to the path of success, but also inspires them to recognize and explore their own potential.

Other important focus area is to maintain and increase the success rate in all competitive and scholastic exams. In addition to IIT JEE coaching, we have also introduced Medical coaching to provide a complete sphere of holistic learning.

What kind of tests and parameters does Vidyamandir Classes use to assess the progress of a student and how successful those have been?

The entire arduous preparation boils down to doing well on that all important day of the IITJEE exam. The very nature of this exam instills a lot of pressure in students and hence it is very important to build the right examination hall temperament so that students can tackle pressure, surprises and create dynamic exam-management strategies quickly. Hence testing, assessment and frequent mock examinations form the core of VMC's pedagogy.

We have online and offline tests matching the standards of the exam. Each test is given by detailed micro- level analysis which gives multiple insights to the student about his strength, weakness, speed and accuracy of his or her performance vs. other topic- wise analysis etc.

We also do regular class tests which include surprise tests, test series which are held at regular intervals, and extensive practice tests.  Another most important aspect of testing process is through analysis of performance and benchmarking with the best performers. VMC's Analytics and Reporting engine provides very high level of analytics, benchmarking reports and even diagnostics after each test. Moreover, personalized and advanced reports like Test Analysis Reports help a student evaluate the various factors which impact his/her performance. They help the students to know where they stand and the mistakes they have made as compared to other students of the same level.

What have been the academic achievements so far and what are your plans to improve it further?

Since the inception of our humble institution, we have stayed away from the glam of ‘Top Ranks' rather we have always worked towards maximum conversions from our classroom program. We take a lot of satisfaction from the fact that we had the best conversion in JEE Main and the legacy has continued in JEE Advanced as well. Our success rate has always been steady for the last 32 years in terms of results, 46% students have been selected for IIT and about 66% students selected for well recognized engineering colleges across the country.

In what way, are you using technology to make institute agile and help students?

Our Android App for students facilitates them to be in touch with their teachers and institute at all times. Be it reading a chapter on Physics, solving questions on Chemistry or asking a doubt from the teacher in Math at late night. The App allows you to do all with ease without any hiccups. They can study through eBooks, attempt exercises, watch videos and take tests. Other features include a SMART analytics engine which will help them learn effectively and quickly and pin-point the weak areas, where you need to focus your energies.

We also have an Android app for parents that keep them informed at all times about their wards performance, attendance and routine progress. It notifies parents and guardians about Lecture attendance on the runtime, results of various tests, time sheets of students, etc.

What are Vidyamandir Classes future plans?

We plan to expand to more cities so as to reach out to all the students, especially in South. We aspire to give a 100% satisfaction to the students and will continue to do so with our sincere approach to provide a quality education with a progressive mindset. We are also going to launch a one year program, Lakshya Foundation, for Class 8th students from the upcoming session in April 2019.
